Irish Punk Festival
Irish Punk Festival - (Firkin, Paddy and the Rats)
21, October, 2009. (wednesday, 20h)
Tűzraktér (Budapest, VI. Hegedű utca 3.)

The most famous home representatives of Irish punk, Firkin and Paddy and the Rats guarantee you a whole night party.
The early period of Irish punk was established by The Pogues with the leading of Shane McGowan in the 80s. The legendary band mixed the authentic Irish folk music with punk. At the end of the 90s, this extreme figure known at many points of the world was followed by a lot of American-Irish bands (Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly), who became world-famous since then.
The two Hungarian bands have been wildly doing the beerful genre of Irish folk music for one 1 year. Huge festivals, independent concerts, club concerts show their fastly growing popularity. Their Celtic smashing refreshed folk music, pub music and punk at home, also. You can be part of this experience, if you visit Tűzraktér on the 21st of October. Because you can, because you must , because it is the first festival of the genre.
You can dive into the unbelievable discounts of Guinness and Tullamore Dew.
